Download Morrissey into the top 40 experiment Jan. 14th, 2007 @ 01:42 pm
girlafraid50

We’re doing an experiment over on Morrissey-solo.
We’re going to try and download a smiths or Morrissey song into the top 40. It could work because of the new downloading rule.

We’ve got a poll going at the moment to decide on which song.

For this to work we need as much fans to get involved as possible so please vote and take part.

The World Won't Listen...But I Will Jan. 22nd, 2006 @ 04:07 pm

So I'm new to the Smiths and Morrissey basically. I mean, I've been into them for months now, but the only albums I've had are "The Best of the Smiths...1", "The Best of the Smiths...2", "The Best of Morrissey", and "Morrissey: Live at Earl's Court". I had been looking around for some time, trying to find good Smiths albums and Morrissey albums but in local record stores there is practically nothing. Just the cds I already have and some random singles. So I went to the mecca of indie music in So Cal - Amoeba Records - and intended on building my collection. And that I did. In one visit, I picked up:
"The Smiths" -their first one
"The Queen is Dead"
"Louder Than Bombs"
"Strangeways, Here We Come"
"Viva Hate"
"Your Arsenal"
"Vauxhall and I"
"My Early Burgulary Years"
and "You Are the Quarry"
Not bad eh? I would have gotten more, but thats all I could afford. I've been listening non stop since I got home and its just been amazing. "Strangeways" has been my favorite so far. But overall, the music is just remarkable, and now that I have all the lyrics from the booklets I have become so much more fascinated by their songs. Especially since a great deal of the words relate to my life, particularly now. I just love it.

btw, that icon is the greatest icon EVER!

Hello all,
I'm looking to sell this BRAND NEW, NEVER WORN Smiths t-shirt:

I have two, so, I thought I'd see if anyone here is interested in purchasing it. (: It's burgundy in color and is a men's size L. I originally bought it for $18.00, but, I'm not asking that much.

My Price: $10.00 + $3.00 (shipping & handling).
New Sale Price: $6.50 + $3.00 (shipping & handling).

So, even including shipping -- it's still way less than what I bought it for! Remember it is brand new, with tag. I accept money orders or well-concealed cash as payment ONLY.

If anyone is interested, comment and/or e-mail me, please. My e-mail address is: Brunettebullet@aol.com.

Thanks!

You can actually record a personal message to Morrissey at PETA’s gala, ‘cause he’s earning their top honor. Check out http://www.peta25.com/gala-morrissey.asp?c=00m for info on how to get your message to Morrissey and info on all of the stuff he’s done for PETA.

Hello there...
I was just wondering if any of you are going to be attending The Smiths/Morrissey convention in California. It's going to be on July 10th I believe. If so comment!!

Hello everyone!
I just thought I'd share this with you hehe....
There is a dance coming up and we've been thinking for a while what to do for our day date and I decided that we are going to go to a shooting range or something...Then go to the graveyard after it gets a little dark and while sitting watching the sun go down we will be listening to....The Smiths!!
I'm pretty excited hehe.

Then considering that it's moz's birthday on the 22nd and the dance is the 21st...I'm going to put Smiths patches on my dress!! I'll take pictures to show to all of you if you'd like! hehe

Then finally tomorrow our school is having "dress up like your favorite celeb day." so I was thinking of dressing like Moz, even though I'm a girl he is my favorite celeb. hehe any tips on what I should wear and the like would be appreciated. So do tell! hehe hope I didn't bore you with all of this!!

Johnny Marr and Moz have given permission to fans to make a musical about the history of The Smiths. Its going to be called, "Some girls are bigger than others". No dates or location on the opening yet.

» I would go out tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wear

I was wondering what makes other people love Morrissey so much?

For me it's:

  • His voice
  • His music
  • His personality
  • His wit
  • His style
  • His out-spokeness
  • His sarcasm
  • His love of The New York Dolls and flowers
